3 new things

So I have been saving for a while and finally got me a new dslr camera. Canon T4i/650D. So excited! Because that was a huge expense and partly gift money to help pay for it. My sister got me two new adeniums (that was an unexpected surprise). Win! Win! So the following pics are taken with my new camera on a macro setting that I'm testing out to get used to how this new toy functions.

First pic is another bloom that just opened on my ordinary pink.

Second pic is Rik Ni RaN that supposed to bloom a triple rich red with almost black edges. It's already putting out some buds on one of the branches but this late in the season I don't see it blooming unless I keep it warm and indoors when the temps drop below the 65ish range.

Third is Tang Dark Blood that's supposed to bloom a large double with a real rich blood red flower with even darker edges. I think this one has the most amazing root structure and caudex. It will be something to watch develop over the next few years!

Kirk, wow....congrats on your new camera. I love Canon, because I also have one. Canon G12 and very happy with it.

Please post more pictures from now on.

I know these 2 adenium came from Adeniumrose.com right?

I hope they do well and give you plenty of blooms next summer.

Yes, I had told my sister about the Adeniumrose site and she ordered a couple for herself and knew I was wanting to add a couple of reds to my starting collection before I ventured into other color variations. So since I blew my budget on the camera she wanted to brighten my day. And she did!

I'll definitely add more pictures as times goes by. When I do get a particular attachment for my camera I plan on doing some time lapse videos of blooms opening on some of these desert roses. I think that would be interesting for us all to see.

I just googled your camera. That looks to be a great one as well. Perhaps I should have gone that route and saved myself a little bit of money but I was in dire need to upgrade my old Canon Rebel EOS that's about 10 years old.

Lovely plants there, I really like the caudex and root formation on them. One has a nice pair of legs and the other looks just like a hand delving into the soil! Enjoy your new camera and we will look forward to some more pics from you

I bought the Canon T4i for my son last month and he loves it. I think I like it as much as my Nikon.

Your Tang Dark Blood does have a really interesting caudex. Enjoy your new camera and DR's.
