Hi All,

I couldn't resist this one that I saw at the St. Pete Saturday Morning Market today for sale by Green Mind Growers. They've really added some impressive hybrids to what they bring out to the market- lots of doubles/triples/etc.

We almost picked up a Purple Rain but this one called our name the loudest in the end. It was marked as a "Sri Ayuthanya" and she described it as a new release that is an easy, prolific bloomer. It looks like, with time, this one should have a nice caudex as well.

It was enjoyable to peruse a number of "newer" fancy hybrids that were all in bloom. Almost like being in Marie's back yard probably! lol

Just beautiful. Wish I could find something like that locally instead of mail order.

That is beautiful. It named Double Pink Stripes.
Very heavy bloom which is big plug for this. You made very good decision, I would perfer this plant better than Purple Rain. Purple Rain fade out the color so fast. Purple Rose is better than Purple Rain.

Your plant is very good looking.

Marie, this is likely the same cultivar that you posted earlier this year under the title of "first double of the year"?

This plant was only slightly more ($28 vs. $25) than the other doubles she had. I am glad to hear it was worth the $2 premium. haha.

Would you prune this particular plant in early spring? I am assuming it will branch on the tips where it is blooming currently. Also when you prune in March do you still get blooms on the brand new branches in early summer, or only on the "old wood" that you leave unpruned?
