I see you list Z9-10 as area. I would wait now until spring when you see new growth starting. In hot climates, some can prune twice in a year and get more blooms. I only do one prune.
Best to do when actively growing and yours will be slowing down even though you have it warmer than some.
My thoughts,
I was very cautious when I did my first pruning and I was amazed at how they responded, very favorably.
When you go too prune, maybe post a few photo's if you are concerned about where and how much to take off?
There are many of this group that have been doing this for quite some time.

Hi Dottie,
I believe when you open a new thread you can upload photo's at top of page from photo's on computer (My Photos). I believe it will let you browse for photo? The only problem with this feature is that you can only post 1 photo.
Then you have to redo on another thread.

I use a Photo website called " imgur" (it is free) from there I can upload many photo's by copying and pasting the HTML thread right into the body of my post. I like this one, very user friendly.
Marie, is very knowledgeable about growing/pruning/grafting Adeniums.
