Some of the youngsters

Here are some of my younger plants growing happily in Wisconsin. They live on the window sills of our south facing sunroom by day and under the table lamps (with natural daylight bulbs) in them until bed time. They're kept toasty warm by the pellet stove that heats the room and the rest of the house in the winter months. I give them a little water, as opposed to summer watering's, with trace amounts of fertilizer. This "recipe" seems to keep them from dropping their leaves, although a few drop now and then. The big boys (not shown here) haven't defoliated either and are still a bright green. The smaller plants are about 15 months old. The one on the left is an Obesum and developing a nice fat bottom, the one on the right is a Soco. and resembles a desert island palm tree!
