it is not it. White Madonna has girl foliage - and yours is not, and the second - White Madonna has very weak bloomstalks - so they are always laying on the leaves, the flowers have rounded petals, look like white rose.

IMHO White Madonna only is as interesting as a really OLD one, probably one of the first white/girl leaf combinations. Nowdays nobody would even bother to register it. That's amazing how far AVs advanced.

Thanks for commenting, irina. I had forgotten to update this posting. You are right it is not Eyerdom's White Madonna. As this plant grew and I realized it was not the plant I had thought, I contacted the person who sent me the leaves originally and had identified it as White Madonna. I made the mistake of presuming it was the Eyerdom plant. She advised me that this is White Madonna but the correct identification for this violet is:

White Madonna (Baker) White star. Dark green. Standard

I love the way this violet has grown for me. I think it is one of the best growers and bloomers that I have and I don't find it uninteresting at all. This Baker violet is a vintage as well, and, since properly identifying it, I have spoken with others who grew it in the 1970s and concurred that it was the Baker plant. {{gwi:355978}}From African Violets - 3

It is truly a nice plant. I would keep this one - and pass the girl leaf one to somebody else ;-)).

Out of the old and white ones my choice is Ness' Viking Maiden. It is of 1989 so it will hit the Vintage age in 4 years. I heard a lot of old grower think it is a best white ever. The only trick - it needs lower light, so edge of the shelf works better than the middle. It keeps a head of frilly blossoms for long long time.
