Did you grow from seeds before?

I have no experience with growing AVs from seed. I'm trying to get seed pods by crossing now. However, I have seen "family pictures" posted by hybridizers that show the parent flowers and some of the offspring. It's amazing how different the babies can look from the parents and from each other! Good luck on your pod.

As a corollary to this question, if the seed pod is the result of the plant self-fertilizing, not crossing 2 plants, can you get plants with different characteristics? My Ma's Prince Froggie must have 7 or 8 seed pods developing on it's own (no, it doesn't have a thrips problem), and I'm curious about what might happen if I tried to grow from their seeds. Thanks.

My Cupie Doll decided to make a pod as well. I don't have a thrips problem either (have in the distant past, so I know what they look like), in my case possibly sticky young fingers. Anyway, my understanding is that you will get anywhere from 50 to 100 seeds and that the foliage will be similar to parent plant, but the flowers can vary greatly.
