I don't know what your 'outside' is like, but if it were here in Maine it would be frozen to death.

If you are in a more temperate climate, you may be able to resurrect this. Take off the shrivelled leaves, give it a sparing drink of warm water, and set the pot in bright light but not direct sun. You could dig away some of the soil down along the stem and scratch it to see if it is green underneath. If it is all dried up, toss it and consider it a dollar woth of experience.

If there is still any life in the stem, it may send up some new growth at the top of the stem as a survival tactic.

Be sure to not overwater, but don't let it get really dry to the point of the potting medium pulling away from the side of the pot.

Good luck, and next time, spend the extra money and buy a nice healthy plant in bloom to enjoy.

Thank you bspofford I will dig around and see if there is any life left and I am in Geismar La., temps have been in the 30s at night when I bought the orphan. they even kept it outside. Thank you verac I did not even think of that and I used to work there. haha. I don't want the hassle for 50 cents.

Give it a decent send off and pitch it. Waaaaay too cold for an African violet. They like the same temps as you.

I don't have the experience that the others have on this forum but, if I spent 50 cents on AV I sure would at least scratch on the neck and give it a chance to do something. If nothing happens in a couple weeks then toss. Pembroke
