I pulled off a couple of pollen sack, cut them open, but there is almost nothing in it. I don't see anything yellow. If I touch them with my fingers or a small brush I don't get yellow "powder" on them either.
I am used to daylilies or amaryllises (hippeastrum where if you touch the opened pollen sack with a brush, you can see the brush very clearly loaded with yellow "powder."
Is what I am seeing with AV normal? Or do I just happen to have a sterile AV? I have tried cutting/crushing the pollen sacks 2 days to a week after the flowers open.
