The numbers I usually hear are a plant will bloom 9-12 months after a leaf is put down. I have a couple that I put down around the same time as you that I'm impatiently waiting for them to bloom as well.

It depends on what type of plant you have. A standard plant will take about 6 to 9 months but a mini or semi can go into bloom in 4 to 6 months. A lot also depends on the care you give them as well as the pot size. Violet roots need to be a bit crowded in the pot before they send up bloom stalks. So if you have mini or a semi in a 3 or 4 inch pot it will take quite a while before it sends up bloom. Likewise with standards, ideally your pot should be 1/3 the size of the crown.
