The window looks like a great place to grow violets. Since the sun doesn't come in the window in the summer, you could actually leave the sheer off. In the winter, if the sun is pretty direct for most of the day, the sheer is probably a good idea.

As far as a table in front of the window, that should be fine.

One thing to remember since your light source will be coming from the side and not overhead, be sure to turn the violets 1/4 turn every couple of days.

Beautiful window, TamiSue. I wish I had a window I could use. DH put that film on all my windows to keep out the hot sun. Not enough light comes thru for the plants.
I loved your blog and enjoyed it.
