winter blues? check this out

This is one that's blooming now. I got start from Mom who received the plant from one of her Sunday School friends who is now deceased. Would anyone know the name of this violet or where I might search. Pembroke

What a beauty! Without knowing where this violet was originally purchased, identification would only be a best guess. If purchased at a grocery or big box store, it could be an Optimara. In fact, it looks a lot like Rita or could be a similar one. You might check their website but in particular their Facebook page which features many lovely photos.

It sure looks like Rhapsodie Rita to me. What a lovely gift and remembrance of your mom's friend.

You've done a wonderful job of growing her too. That's one of the varieties I want to get from Selective Gardener when it warms up.

Pembroke,
Your plant is lovely and very well grown.

Hi Diana
I do have Rita. If you would like a leaf or two when your weather warms up, do let me know. Perhaps we can exchange if you still have Millennia, a similar color plant.
Rita does very well, very strong

Checked out Optimara violets and I believe Rita is the match for my violet. Thanks for all the help. Pembroke
