Regarding wicking

The majority of my plants end up in 4 inch pots when fully grown. Certainly there are exceptions according to variety but 4 inches is the size I use most.

I need to know if I should be using smaller size (ply) wicks when going from tiny starting pots to 1 inch pots. I have been using all the same thickness wicks regardless of plant size.

I use acrylic but there is no size marked on the label and it has to be at least 16 ply I think.

I'm under fluoros (1 warm & 1 cool) for 12 hours daily and the plants are 11 inches off the lights.

I really would appreciate a recommendation for ply thickness for both seedlings and also fully grown plants.

Maybe I'm overly concerned but I have a considerable number of cuttings under way and I dont want to lose them.

Thanks,

Andrew
