For those who may not have heard, the African Violet world lost one of its most sparkling gems today.

Rachel Mayer (of the famous rachelsreflections.com) passed away at home this morning from a stroke.

For those that wish to send cards, please contact me for the family's address.

I will send a donation in her memory to the African Violet Society of America.
Very sad. Thank you for letting us know.

dragonfly2008--A few people in the VioletReflections Yahoo group had the same idea..

One of the list moderators, Jana had this to add:

"This is a wonderful idea but please wait before doing this? If we collect the monies and donate it as one lump sum to the Tinari Endowment Fund then Rachel's name & Violet Reflections name will be listed in *every* AVSA magazine. The Tinari Endowment Fund was created so AVSA will never die off from lack of funds or membership.
I'm sure Millie would be willing to (or I can) collect the donations & forward them all together to AVSA."

P.S. when everything gets sorted & all, I can provide Jana's paypal address if anyone would like to donate to the "lump sum" donation to AVSA.

I'm going to be donating all the money (and/or time or whatever else) I possibly can to keeping the websites and forum up and running.
