Thats a question only you can answer. If you want to see them bloom that's ok but if you want them to get larger disbud them and repot. There is a happy medium, disbud but leave one flower stalk on so you can see the bloom.

That is a good question. Every thing Fred told you is true. I am a little greedy though and cannot not stand the thought of disbudding a flowering plant. lol I only do this if I am doing a major repotting where quite a bit of the roots have been messed with. So, as Fred said, it's entirely up to you.

If it were me and I was growing violets for a show, then I would want to disbud. However, if I was not growing them for a show, then I would let them bloom their heads off. Personally, I am not that interested in growing violets to enter in shows, but rather growing them to enjoy their beauty, so I most often just let mine bloom away.

You also have to consider that if you disbud and pot up that eventually you will have a much larger plant with many more blooms.

Hi Fred, I am going to still take your advice on leaving just one flower stalk on it is hard as all the violets I just received from Rob's are flowering actually all my violets are flowering.Why is it so hard to do things to a mail order violet but a grocery store violet you can do anything to?
