The show & sale appears to have been a big success. There weren't a lot of AV's in the show, but lots of them were offered for sale & they went like hotcakes. During the last hour, all remaining plants & cuttings were reduced to half price, but the pickings were already getting pretty slim by then. I believe this AV 'Frozen in Time' won the top award in the AV class.

What a nice fresh plant. Who grew it? I.

I'm told it was grown by Jean Chinn. I took a lot of my pics before the growers' names were revealed and I was sleep deprived...did good if I captured the plant ID info. I am supplying quite a few pics to Mel Grice to choose from for the GLEANINGS newsletter (Gesneriad Society)...I'm going to need to get some more ID info to send with those pics.

Patrick - it is better to catch fresh plants without grower names - than names, awards = and tired plants. This one looks cool as a cucumber, crunch, crunch.

Urban, Go to the Austin show! You will have so much fun as well as learn so much. Don't hesitate to talk to other growers; you already have much in common so go for it! I have been growing for 40 years and have a Horticulture degree and I am still learning from others. Everyone has a different area of expertise and growing experience and everyone is happy to share their knowledge. You will come away with renewed enthusiasm, knowledge and more violets than you know what to do with! Linda
