Today I was wandering around my local nursery checking out the violets. I attached a picture of a miniature violet that I found there with a striking color combination. Does anyone know what variety it is and if it is common? I can't find it on Optimara's website. Even though I already have three violets in my dorm right now I might have to go back and pick it up if it's a rare variety.

If it is an Optimara, its probably Optimara Little Hopi, or maybe a sport of it since the color pattern appears slightly different from pictures I have seen. Do a google image search for that name and see what you think. Whatever it is I like it very much.

RARE, YES! This is a chimera. You see the stripes? You won't be able to get babies with the same colorations because this is a chimera. Wait for a sucker to grow and allow it to grow larger until you can take it off and plant it. Meanwhile enjoy your chimera. This is a fantasy chimera and many, when they have names are sold for a lot of money. Nancy
