Vellux blanket material for mats

I know a lot of people that use 'Vellux' blankets for mat watering material. FYI, the manufacturer is closing the plant in June, and it appears the material will not be made any longer. If this is what you use, you might want to stock up now.

That is just a shame, more people out of work! I hope they don't open another plant in another country, that seems to be the trend...Hershey's closed the peppermint patties division in the states to open another one in Mexico...so now I'm gonna protest by giving up my fav patties!

Do the vellux blankets work well? I would think the wicking qualities would be good as it has the fibers on the bottom and the sponge part in the middle to hold most of the water, unlike the blanket I'm using now.
