Are you sure? Sometimes too much light, excess fertilizer, application of insecticide can cause the same look.
Plus - if you have them on 2 - they can be on everything.

I think it all depends on the plants you have. If you have some everyday run of the mill AV's, pitch them. If by some chance you have a number of expensive Chimeras then fight the disease by all means.

I wish I could post pics, I'm what you call computer challenged-I hope to corral my grandson long enough to show me how. The violets in question have tight centers and the leaves seem brittle. One is blooming and the blooms are smaller and aren't colored right. I think they go to the trash.By the way, would a systemic pesticide work on something like this? I sometimes use it for thrip.

No, it will not. You need miticide.

Neem oil product from Shultz - insecticide/fungicide/miticide is a weak miticide - so if you get it and start spraying on the top and undersides of leaves and do it several times week apart - you can possibly get rid of them without using specialized serious miticides. But I side with Fred - if it is nothing special - toss them.
