Hi Krystal,

The link below shows you how to save the plant. The difference is instead of a long neck you have rot up to a certain place. Decapitate above the rot, even if you have to take off leaves to find where the stem doesn't have rot. In fact, since the plant won't have roots it's a good idea to remove some leaves anyway. You can try starting them so you'll have babies just in case the plant dies. The stalk in the pot should be thrown away. Rot is a common result of mix staying too wet too long. There is a lot of good info on this forum about watering and making potting mixes that are forgiving of overwatering.

Thank you so much for the info. I had to cut almost all the stem off to get get rid of the rot. I then cut back leaves until I got a decent root for the crown to reroot. The healthy leaves I kept for rooting as well. I bought a plastic green house box to keep them humid in and will get a decent amount of sunlight on a table in front of a table. I have the bottom 1/4 inch of all the cuttings in water and used saran wrap to keep the leaves from touching the water. Should I let them root in water for awhile ??? Or should I go ahead and transfer them to soil. I went to my local nursery and a very kind man mixed me up a bag of tri-mix violet soil as recommended by the site. Although, the rot of my best AV is a bummer, Im learning a lot and will be expanding my AV collection. I will post pics this evening. Thanks again for any info :)

I would rot the crown in a soil under the dome or plastic baggie. The trick is to keep the soil light and barely humid and air moist.
