When to remove flowers?

Hi...

My AV bloomed like crazy this spring! It looked awesome. Some of those flowers are starting to die, and I was wondering when I should remove them and how I should do so. It looks like new buds are forming, so I would like to keep the momentum going all summer. Thanks!

Remove them once they've faded/start to die. If you have a group of them and only one is bad you can just cut the flower and its pedicel (little stem) off and leave the rest. If the whole group needs to be removed, take off the peduncle (big stem that grows from the crown). Usually you can easily snap off the peduncle back to the crown by moving it sideways back and forth. Or you can cut it back to the crown. You should be able to keep the momentum going and enjoy blooms for months!
