How many of you have good local sources?

I've recently moved from a place that had decent local African violets to what appears to be a near African violet desert. There is only one Lowe's here which sells a few Optimaras, no minis, etc. With online ordering, this is fixed more easily-- but I do miss seeing violets in the stores. I was wondering if many others are in the same situations. :)

one of our club best AV growers came from Arizona and the AZ violets clubs do great despite the adversity.

You can do it so much better than Lowes. There 2 things you need to consider - how good is your water and do you have a kind of separate room or basement where you can grow them - so you can have a place you can maintain a higher humidity. If you have it - you can grow AVs on the moon.

Hattie Bagget is an excellent grower. I think she is in Tucson.

Maybe you could talk with the store managers and ask them to buy violets.
