All of them ship =so even you do not plan to travel - you can get everything by ordering - and right now it will be cheaper - no need for winter packaging.

To my regret I never visited The Violet Gallery - the owners are great people and I see them on conventions with a very good selection of plants.

But I made it to the Violet Barn 3 years ago - and the drive is terrific - Finger Lakes, Bristol mountains - to die for - and everything at their shop is so well organized - zillions of perfect blooming minis and the sunroom with lush blooming Ma's standard AVs on the middle table and gorgeous kohlerias, columneas and whatnot closer to the windows.

Irina, it's great to hear good things about people! thanks for letting me know your opinion about the Violet Gallery. I know my husband wants to get back to Gettysburg some weekend and it's very close so that would work perfect for me :) I didn't see anything other than av's listed on their site, just wondering if you or anyone else has seen them offering anything else?

I can't even count how many times over how many years I've been within 20 miles of the Violet Barn going to Buffalo or Niagara Falls on route 390. Didn't realize exactly where it was, I thought it was close to Albany! It is a beautiful area and we'll probably be going up some point this fall. I've read many great things about it and can't wait to go in person.

My club purchased its sale plants from the Violet Gallery and we were well satisfied with them. The plants were starter plants with bloom so people could see what they looked like. I also saw Mahlen and Brenda at the Philadelphia flower show this spring. They were very gracious and their plants there looked wonderful. We will be purchasing plants from them next year.
