is temperature a major factor for flowering?

i have a african violet in hydroculture . i had for maybe a year or two and has not flowered.

its in great light and get fert. but no flowers. before, i had this plant in soil(in warmer room)- when i recieved it was not in flower). after some time, i decided to put it in hydroton pellets and i noticed it had flower stalks.

but i removed the stalks and moved it to cooler room. the room is on average 66 degrees all the time but mostly at night. it has been in this room since then.

i now moved it back to that warm room to see if it will flower... any information or thoughts are appreciated. :)
