Do AVs Bloom at Warm Temperature

As advised by Korina, I should ask Xuan cos she is the tropical grower.

Do AVs bloom at temperature 84-86F? My country's temperature (Malaysia) is closer to yours, Vietnam. I hope I am correct.

I find my AVs' growth are slow too.

Even in the states or Canada, I believe AVs growth will slow at warmer temperatures. Like us, they like to be around 70 degrees F.

Many growers in the south of the US have a problem with this in the hot summer. Variegation disappears, growth slows.

Hi Sheila, glad to know you, neighbor!
I hope I'm not disappointing you but I have found AVs do not bloom in warm temperature. I have two homes, one in Saigon which is hot (30-35 C) all the year round, and one in Dalat which is cool (15-25 C) all the year round. I have so far been unable to grow AVs in my Saigon home. All my AVs are in Dalat.
Maybe you can keep your AVs healthy and bloom for you inside air-con room?

RE: Do AVs Bloom at Warm Temperature

Thanks to you, Nancy and Xuan for the advice.

I had changed to growing under fluorescent lights from natural light (besides a window) a few months ago cos they all died of the heat. Under the fluorescent lights at least I do not see leaves wilt though the growth is slow. The lights are on at night time only. I am hoping for it to bloom.

An alternative, I will have to put them inside an air-con room.
