Color and hues or shades of color are affected by temperature. It could be that your temperature is too high. They may also be sporting.

I am not an experienced violet grower but, I do have one plant that always starts out blooming solid purple and gradually gets more and more white, from the center outwrd, as the blooming contunues. This is not on individual blooms. Early blooms are solid and later blooms are white with purple edges. I am curious to know if yours will do the same thing over time or if they will stay solid.

Hi,
Many of the av's that are found in supermarkets and places like home depot are unstable. They more than likely will change their blossom colors although not always. If you really want a specific color bloom I suggest that you check out some of the AV hybridizers that are listed in the
avsa.org site.
