"Whackage" aftermath

10 years ago

Back in June, I mentioned that my Blue Twinkle was getting too big for its britches and a "slash-n-hack" or "whack" job was imminent.

At the time, the BT in question (plant mass to the right of the midline/in front of the large whitish rock) looked like this:

{{gwi:370788}}

Now, after my not-so-gentle ministrations, it looks like this:

{{gwi:370790}}

{{gwi:370791}}

This time around, the "whackage" occurred over a far longer time period than usual (about a month) as I was only chopping away as I received requests for the cuttings. Normally I would have done it all at once. As you can see, some new growth is already evident.

What's your technique when doing this?

Well, I would say, Tom, that the pictures pretty much say it all (along with the brief commentary). A sharp implement was the only tool and I don't bother dusting with a fungicide or root tone.
