African Violets in aquarium. Bottom leaves yellowing.

Can someone provide some advice?

I planted two, African Violets in a 30 gallon aquarium. 2 inches of gravel on the bottom, and promix soil to a depth of 4 inches. I leave the top open. Lighting is a 2 bulb, T5, 39 watt / bulb grow light that runs from 5 AM to 8 PM.

The African Violets have stopped blooming, and the bottom leaves are yellow. Eventually, the leaves die. The center leaves are gorgeous and green, but the yellows are taking over.

What am I doing wrong? I've cut back watering because other plants were losing bottom leaves, and it seems to have helped, but the violets aren't doing well.

Thanks for your time. Terrariums are indeed addicting, and are a great way to bring plants inside when you have felines.
