The blossom pattern will vary from hybrid to hybrid. Some will be totally random, like yours, some will have that 'nosegay', and some will be in a ring around the center.

One thing you might try is to disbud your plant for a couple of months. Then, when it is allowed to bloom, it will send up a fuller head of bloom than usual. Those prize winners have been treated in this manner, and timing the bloom gets real tricky!

I agree totally with Barbara. My Optimara EverBeautiful seems to naturally have a nice pattern to the blooms, and my Chanticleer is totally random. Disbudding should help, but some varieties are much more prone to misbehaving.

If you want all flowers close together in the middle you have to very carefully manipulate them, pushing and gently placing them on top of leaves.
