it depends on the variety - that's why the support rings were invented. Some of them just try to touch the shelf no matter what.

To add to what Irina said, it is odd, but different varieties of AVs also have different light requirements and can act oddly in the face of too much or not enough light. Have you tried moving these two to a different location to see if they respond better? If yes, then maybe they simply grow funky. If not, you might try it. I don't have any direct experience, but have read posts of people whose AVs were doing weird leaf things that seemed opposite of what you'd think a leaf would do in that light condition, and moving them around helped.

Take it for what it's worth....just me stating what I've heard others say.

Thanks to both of you, I have never tried the support rings, maybe it is time I tried them out, never too late for an old lady to learn to try something different.

As to moving them, I moved them from an East window because they were curling and figured the North window would be the best place for them, but, they didn't improve. Might just put them on an inside table and see what developes. Then again as you said, maybe that's the nature of the beast. Thanks again to both of you.

Just a thought. I wan wondering if it could be from over fertilizing.

Ah, good point. I forget that fertilizing also impacts how they grow. Would under fertilizing have an impact on curling, or only over fertilizing?
