It hit me�I've been bit by the African Violet bug!

I've lurked on these pages for quites some time. It all started with a fiddle leaf fig that I tried to convince that he could happily live in my house, but there wasn't enough light for him. So I put him outside and then the goats ate him... Yes goats. He has since made a full recovery and is happy on a table high above their reach.

Needless to say, I can't have much folliage outside, so I was determined to find some sort of flowering beauty for my house. I found this AV looking rather forlorn at a Lowes and took him home with me. He seems to be much happier now, but I can't figure out what's going on with the leaves. He's put out several in the last few months, but I can't tel if its suckers or a new plant entirely. Any advice?

I know the soil is heavy and needs some perlite, I'll probably do that this weekend. And do I need to downgrade the pot?

I also have three minis coming in from Voilet Barn in the next couple days. I'm SO excited!
