tightening of the crown. that's a tough call. it could almost be anything from too much light to the beginnings of a mite infestation. Have you by chance had your African Violets outside?

I hope not any infestation .. No they are always inside my living room . I am using Flourescent light but i have not measure how far are they ...oh thanks a lot i better do measure it right now.... It should be 12 in far right?

I think I might put a piece of paper on it for a week or 2 to see if too much lighting is the problem.

If that is just one potted violet in the picture, and not a second one behind it, it looks like it can just be a good sized sucker causing the crowding. If so, you can separate the smaller one from the main plant and root it. Then you have a free one!
