sometimes variegated leaves give us white babies. They cannot survive on thie own ever - they cannot feed themselves. While they are attached to the mama leaf we try to green them up with extra nitrogen fertilizer. Sometimes it works and they send new greener leaves, sometimes not and they die.

When you want to start a new variegated plant - try to select the leaf with the most green in it. The more green - the stronger you will get the babies.
