I think more people have success getting them to bloom more often due to less space requirements (remember AV's aren't fans of being crowded in a space).

My general experience is that they are more difficult unless you're wicking them.

I don't know about ALL minis but my trailers are ALWAYS in bloom!

It all depends on the variety - s/m Ness Crinkle Blue is everblooming to me, and not all trailers are free blooming - but a lot of them are - TommyR is correct. Grow a good size semi-mini trailer - any Rob's trailer works - and they just go on and on and on. The blossoms are not that large - but there are so many of them.

Also, remember that even if there are a couple more blooms per plant (and my minis and semis have fewer than many of my standards) that those blooms are much smaller and occupy less space than a standard. It does seem like there may be a larger amount of space occupied by the blooms in comparison to the whole plant in minis/semis. In other words, you might get more bloom for the amount of leaves from the minis and semis, but not necessarily more blooms total.

My "Fancy trail" and Rob's "Stickey Wicket" are in constant bloom. And Fancy trail is easy to leaf propagate.

Rob's Sticky Wicket has propagated very easily for me. I bought two leaves and was surprised how tiny they were, but the babies are looking great. Can't wait for it to bloom.
