Slicing apart a double crown...

I've read up a lot on it, and ended up dividing a few of my Siamese twins... Sliced them in half and potted them up, they are looking well, so no problems yet.

I'm curious though, if you put down a leaf cutting, you get baby plants, if you injure a leaf and leave it on soil, chances are it roots and makes plants, you can even grow new AVs from tissure culture.
So would you get 'babies' when rooting a crown as well? or does the energy simply go into growing the one plant? Noone ever mentions additional plants in their follow up (if there is one)...
