If possibly can bury the long neck up to the bottom of the crown. Try to leave the roots but if you must, cut some of the rootball to fit the plant into the pot. By burying the neck, it will eventually send out roots where there were once leaves. If this plant has a tendency to sucker, it still will but it will be from the base of the new plant once it starts to grow and mature.

I wanted to know if I could get suckers from the root ball and the neck that is left ?

If you leave the neck exposed it should send out suckers. It's been awhile since I have grown violets but I believe this to be the case. Where the stems from the leaves were removed, plants should start from the node above or below where the leaf stem originally was.

You can make small nicks in the neck and they will send out suckers. This is how you shape AV trailers.

You remove the suckers, apply a little rooting hormone and treat them as you would leaves.
