Very cool! Love the clean look of the shelves. I see you live in North Carolina so you can use these probably all year long. Unfortunately, I live in the frigid north and the violets would get too cold in the wintertime that close to the window. I bet some of my orchids would like it though, like paphs?

Those are fabulous! You have great windows for growing and the display is classy and neat. I have been crowding my baby AVs in windowsills around my large cattleyas but the violets don't all fit. I don't have space for plant stands, so this is an ideal solution. Thanks for sharing.

Dragonfly, I do worry about the cold next to the window. My orchids are all quite small, so I'm able to place them on the shelves about three inches from the glass. Most of what I have isn't bothered by ~50 degrees (rather appreciates it). AVs might get chilly though.

I always had my AVs in a south facing window when I lived in New England, and kept them there all year round. It never occurred to me that it might be too cold for them - they seemed to like the crisp winter sun and would bloom like mad.
