no fantasy markings :(

Hello! About 2 months ago I bought buckeye celebration from robs violet barn. It finally started blooming about a week ago and it has no fantasy markings! I am pretty sure its buckeye celebration because it came from such a reliable source. My question is do you think if I take a leaf cutting I could get fantasy in the flowers from the leaf?

HI Rachel,
Why don't you wait a bit to see if it develops the fantasy markings in the second bloom cycle. Frequently things change after the first bloom. Then if it didn't I would contact the place where you purchased the plant and tell them it did not bloom according to the description.

A leaf cutting would likely not change from the flower you have on the plant. Fred is right to say the second and third blooming may change somewhat from the first and you may have fantasy after all.
