African Violets

Growth Question

Two of my plants have stopped growing from the crown. The plants appear healthy, older leaves look fine but no sign of a crown, no new growth.
One of the plants has sprouted suckers off to the side but the other plant is just sitting, not doing anything.
I have put down leaves.
Do African Violets quit growing for several months, no center crown growth or is this a problem?
No bugs, no rot, no mold. No evidence of any cultural issues.
Any Ideas?

The crown should always be present ... it is the natural growth point of the plant.

If there is no crown , the only way for the plant to grow and bloom is through suckers, which can be removed and started as new plants.

You could have lost your crowns through over-fertilization.

That might be the answer. I do see some gunk build up along the stems of the older leaves near the stem
I will cut back on the fertilizer. Only those two plants are affected so far.
