rip fred hill from nj

Just heard the news that Fred Hill has passed away. He was a member here and helped many of us with our questions about our growing African Violets.

Garden State African Violet Club
We received sad news this weekend that our life member, Fred Hill passed away over the weekend. Fred was a master judge, member of our club and Tristate African Violet Council. He was an award winning grower, mentor to many new members over the years and a good friend. He will be missed.

Fred was a great guy and my first mentor on GW. I will miss him very much!

Thank you for letting us know and my condolences. Many of his posts and advice live on in the archives on this forum. I very much appreciate reading them. He was a wonderful person, kind and generous.

Fred was able to explain things like nobody else. I believe he was a retired science teacher.

He really will live on in his posts here. He always explained things in a way that were so easy to understand. I frequently search this forum and will usually come upon his posts.

Condolences,
I would have loved to have met Fred in person. I believe his spirit goes on Ã¢ÂÂ¦ as we have observed, violets virtually live forever.
