Red Veins

I have a lightly variegated AV whose new leaves are always crisscrossed with red veins. They gradually fade as the leaves age. Leaves with red veins also have reddish petioles, while non-veined leaves have green petioles. The plant is very healthy and floriferous. Has this occurred with anyone? What causes this? I'm reluctant to call this birthmarking because it's temporary. Thanks.
