I just received 5 plants from violet barn. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I should proceed? I would like to wick them. Is anyone familiar with the soil he uses if it is suitable for wicking. Should I repot?

Hi, I generally repot any new violet that I get into a clean pot with my soil mix. Then I put it in isolation for at least a month. Fred in NJ

N. - Their soil is a bit too heavy for wicking. They keep the pot on the wet mats and ask not to lift them up to look - otherwise sometimes the contact gets lost and the pot dries. If you are not ready to repot right now - you can keep them the same way while in isolation. Soil is quite good. Otherwise - Fred is right. Irina
