I wish I had posted this earlier....

I have some suggestions for gift ideas for AV enthusiasts.

A membership for the African Violet Society of America (AVSA). It includes a subscription to the AVSA magazine.

A membership for a local AV club. Look under 'affilliates' on the AVSA website.

A copy of FC2. This is the list of over 15,000 named plants, and includes many photos. Descriptions are included, with hybridizer and registration number info.

An update to FC2. For $11.00 per year, you receive all the updates to FC2.

Calendars from AVSA.

Reference books. "Growing to Show" by Pauline Barthalomew(sp) is considered a classic.

Tools and supplies. An x-acto knife with a #11 blade and refills. Pots in several sizes and potting mix. A gift certificate from Cape Cod Violetry.

Lighting fixtures and stands.

Gift certificates to commercial vendors. These can be found on the AVSA website.

I'm sure many of you have more ideas.
