West coast companies

I am looking for west coast sources - preferably Oregon - for African violets. I used to grow some of the small vining types as well as some "micros" and other minis and would like to find some again. I was able to source some on the east coast, but the shipping is just too high for my taste (starting at $35.00 ++ at one company).

since AVSA.org site is under construction - there is no help from them.
There is a gesneriad club in Newberg OR - I would suggest you to contact them and ask for their ideas. usually the most economical way is to attend the local clubs Show and sale and load it up.

I am thinking that part of the problem is a winter shipping - heat packs and next day delivery...

Good Luck

Thank you, will try the link and see if I can find some ideas for sources or even nearby shows/sales.

I agree, shipping costs are much higher in winter due to extra care. If all else fails, I will just have to be patient and wait until the costs go back down when better weather arrives.
