OT: Prayer Request

I've not seen this type of post on this board before; however, I am a firm believer in the power of prayer.

My 4 year old daughter (the one who "helps" me with my plants) was diagnosed this morning with MRSA. It's the virulent staph infection that spread quickly and can be very dangerous, even deadly.

It started out last Sunday as a pimple on her right buttock/thigh. Today it is covering over 60% of her right thigh.

We need for these antibiotics to work and we need them to work quickly before any more tissue is destroyed on her leg.

Her name is Kathryn. Please add her, our family, and her medical caregivers to your prayer list. I'll keep you posted when I am able.

Dora--you don't know me, but as a member of the medical community, I can tell you they have been working very hard for some time to conquer MRSA, and have made significant treatment advances. Keep faith, and I will pray for both you and your daughter. Jan

Dora, I will certainly pray for a speedy recovery for Kathryn. Keep your faith in God. He will look over her.

Good Sunday morning everyone.

My apologies for leaving you hanging and I know you know that we have been busy :)

The news is good. Her body is responding to the antibiotics and treatments and she is improving. I believe we are heading in the right direction. This has been a stressfull ordeal for me but I feel much more optimistic today. They've removed a lot of tissue from her leg and it continues to drain well (according to them). They haven't gotten into muscle tissue and she is moving her leg much better and even stood on it last night.

The Drs say that we aren't out of the woods yet but we can see the clearing. On behalf of our entire family, including Kathryn and a stressed out mommy, I so appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

There's not a day that goes by that I don't realize how very much we have to be thankful for; however, it seems much more real and in my face today.

You brought her home from the hospital! Great news. All those prayers and good wishes must have worked! How is she doing today?
