Hi there, I'm in Austin too! In my previous town I was part of the African Violet club and I'll be joining the one here soon :)

As for where to get plants, the Great Outdoors nursery will have a few plants, in varying conditions, sometimes Randall's will have violets too, and I'm happy to share leaves of my collection of 200 or so plants. And you could join a club! You'll often get some free leaves and they tend to be of varieties that are vigorous.
