you may find a seed company in ashville, nc interesting during these cold winter days. it was called to my attention by tipper pressley of blindpig& see

And while I'll certainly visit the seed company, blindpig& sounds much more interesting to me at the moment! Gotta see what else has been keeping you busy on these cold days!

I just took a look at sowtrueseeds. and was not overwhelmed. Baker Creek has a much larger selection, comparable prices, and the same philosophy regarding non-GMO heirloom selections. I DID appreciate the info about seeds per ounce, planting requirements, etc.

A similar place is Sand Hill Preservation Center They have a website at but do not take orders over the internet. They also sell heirloom poultry strains! Located in Calamus, Iowa. They also sell some seeds of colored cotton. They warn you that they are not that fast to fill orders - it is a husband and wife operation.
