Rain amounts

Yesterday, I went through my garden journal and looked at the rain totals at my house for the past 4 years. They are:

2004 - 77.45

2005 - 67.35

2006 - 65.85

2007 - 39.30

Let's hope we are back to normal for 2008. Linda

2004 was the year we had those 4 hurricanes blow through FL. Even 65 iches seems high for AL unless you're in Mobile.

I think the rain guages need calibration.

57.51 is normal for Huntsville, we got 28.65 in 2007. I haven't keep strict tract, but I believe I got more here than the official total -- most days when there were scattered showers around the state I got at least something.

Is anyone else here collecting and reporting daily precipitation amounts to CoCoRaHS (Community Collaborative Rain Hail & Snow Network)? I LOVE the rain gauge we use for that.
