spring broccoli?

Anyone ever have luck with spring broccoli?

I was in a big box store today, saw some broccoli seedlings, and made the completely unscientific judgement that the cold winter means a cold spring so maybe broccoli will work this year.

Am I setting myself up to fail?

RE: spring broccoli?

It always bolts on me in the spring, but if you have them already, give it a shot. You can always eat the leaves if it doesn't look like it will head up.

RE: spring broccoli?

They're in the soil for a week now. I'll let you know what happens.

. . . and I didn't know I could eat the leaves. Thanks!
