For those of you not far from T-town, this may be interesting.

I got this info from a friend's email there.

Also, if you have never looked around the U of A arboretum there, Its also

a neat place. I think its this weekend that the arboretum is having a a "family tree planting" activity to celebrate the anniversary of the arboretum this weekend. They also have some good seminars and plant sales there sometimes.

The City of Tuscaloosa Tree Commission, in conjunction with Arbor Week, is holding its 17th annual tree giveaway this Saturday, February 23, 8:30 a.m., in the parking lot at Snow Hinton Park (Hargrove Road entrance). The trees are young and bare root. Varieties to be distributed include, but are not limited to, live oak, magnolia, dogwood, fringe tree, redbud, crepe myrtle, bald cypress, white oak, red maple, and sawtooth oak. Happy planting,
