| We have just purchased a new place that has several amaryllis growing in the ground. When do they need fertilizing and what type and amount of fertilizer should be used? |

| Most healthy, established perennials don't benefit that much from fertilizing. Over the years I've learned that the best "fertilizer" is a good application of compost or leaf mold in spring and again in fall. The money you save can be used to purchase more amaryllis ;-) Nelson |
